Glass Beads for Sandblasting and Surface Finishing
Glass beads are a spherical blasting media suitable for cleaning, finishing and surface treatment of metal surfaces. Due to their round shape, glass beads treat the surface more gently than sharp-edged abrasive media and produce a smooth, uniform satin finish.
Glass beads are suitable for use on steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass and other metals. They are also well suited for blasting small metal components and parts used in jewellery making and watchmaking when a clean and even surface finish is required.
Choose the grit size according to the application:
| Grit size | Grade | Typical application |
|---|---|---|
| 40–70 µm | Extra fine | Delicate finishing and small, precision parts |
| 70–110 µm | Fine | Fine cleaning and a smooth satin finish |
| 150–250 µm | Medium | General-purpose cleaning and finishing |
| 200–300 µm | Coarse | More intensive cleaning and coarser surface treatment |
Package sizes: 1 kg and 5 kg.
The bulk density of the glass beads is approximately 1.5 kg/l.
Glass beads can be reused depending on the blasting equipment and application. The appropriate grit size, air pressure and nozzle size should be selected according to the material being treated and the desired surface finish.
Note: This product is intended for use as blasting media. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of your blasting equipment.
